PC World Sync Shootout: Syncplicity’s #1!
PC World has just published the results of its synchronization, backup, and sharing product shootout (available at PC World and published in the September ‘08 issue).
“With its breadth of features, ease of use, and added bonuses such as version control, Syncplicity is my top pick among sync services.” - Scott Dunn, PC World
Needless to say, we’re ecstatic that PC World has chosen Syncplicity as the number one choice over others in the area, especially against such established competitors!
We’ve always been huge believers in listening closely to users and delivering the best experience we could that everyone, from our moms to the geekiest of geeks, could use. It’s great to hear such strong validation from such a respected source. Time for some champagne!
Cheers!

Congrats! If only your monthly rates were lower like Sugarsync’s, I’d sign up for yearly plans already. Any news of mobile or client updates?

This is good, but the only reason why i stopped using this software is that when u have shared a file (excel 2007 file in my case) when i open it and edit something and then try to save it. It always used to say the File is not saved due to some reasons and i could not do anything.
I tried all possible steps to find the cause and later discovered that if this software is running with that folder or file shared then it wont allow you to save the file and as soon as i quit the software i was able to save the file.
This was strage that no one else noticed this problem before. Not sure if this issue has been rectified. If it is give me an info at samthetester @ gmail.com

@Lyon: We just released the most recent client update recently. Release notes haven’t yet been posted, but will be shortly in the Announcements area of the forums. (https://my.syncplicity.com/Forums/default.aspx?g=topics&f=5) We’ve got an iPhone web site today. As for other clients, we’ve got lots of exciting stuff coming down the pipe but nothing ready to announce today.
@Arvind: This doesn’t sound right at all. Many of our users (including myself!) use Excel on a daily basis and haven’t hit this problem. Please open a support topic on the forums or send an e-mail to support@syncplicity.com so we can get to the bottom of this.

If you can lower your price, it will be my top 1.

Kudos on an excellent service! I just started using it and it seems top notch for now.
One comment though: how about synching a single file, instead of a folder? My firefox bookmarks for example are stored in a bookmarks.html file which I don’t want to move to a new folder. The containing folder has lots of other files I don’t want to sync…is there any way to do this currently?

Congrats! I’ve already change to Syncplicity from Mozy in my desktop machine. If only Syncplicity works without the need to log in it could be my only and simple backup app.

Nice one, you deserve it. Having had the misfortune to have tried MS Live Mesh your service is everything that should have been and more. Well done.
