Syncplicity Business Edition Now Available!

I am excited today to announce the availability of Syncplicity Business Edition – the first sync, back-up, sharing, and collaboration solution that allows businesses to manage their files in a fully integrated way.

We’ve heard from many of you who have used our consumer product that you loved the ease-of-use and flexibility of Syncplicity but wanted the ability to use it in your business or workplace. This sounds amazing. Something I would have definitely deployed instead of the in house server. I see there is still no mac version though. Our company is approximately 50 large in this office with about 70% mac and 30% windows. The server gives me the compatibility between all the operating systems. However, the syncplicity UI gives my users the simplicity *ack* of click and go type usage. Samba shares although very easy on windows and mac to navigate are still not as simple as this software.

What type of data security do you offer? And when do you plan to offer a mac client, this would technically be the only hurdle our company faces switching over to a service like this.

Hi Paul — thanks for the great feedback. In terms of security, once data leaves a computer, it is fully encrypted with highest-grade strong encryption both during transport and at rest (256-bit SSL at transport, 256-bit AES for data at rest).

In addition, Syncplicity is unique in the fact that we go well beyond that: every file has its own uniquely generated strong encryption key and we maintain two separate data centers, one in which we store the data and the other in which we keep the keys. This effectively separates the keys from the vault and creates an additional level of security.

On the Mac client, yes — we’ve definitely heard the demand for this loud and clear. While I don’t have any specifics for you yet, we will have one in 2010.
